Choosing a wedding venue is one of the most integral parts of the wedding planning process which is why we're so excited for today's collaborative post. We have been so lucky to use this versatile venue for our web content, styled shoots, and more!
One of Georgia's most gorgeous venues, The Greystone Estate, will be spilling all their secrets to ensuring your venue perfectly-accentuates your dream wedding.
Q: What are two of the most unique things about your venue?
A: The Greystone Estate has excellent indoor and outdoor options so the ceremony is beautiful rain or shine, cold or warm! And, we offer luxurious accommodations for the bride and groom to prepare for their day and relax with those who love them most.
Q: How far in advance should couples book their venue?
A: Most book 1.5 years in advance. However, we’ve booked brides even before the proposal so they could snag their date of choice! On the flip side, we’ve also planned weddings in as little as 2 months. The key to last-minute success is being flexible on the date.
Q: How should the venue factor into the overall wedding experience?
A: The venue is your foundation, and everything else should fall into place after choosing the one that’s right for you. Hopefully, your venue will have vendor recommendations and planning procedures that will make the rest of the process seamless.
Q: What are the three most important things a bride should communicate to her venue?
A: One, your "must haves." Every venue is different so it’s important that couples communicate their must have’s. Venues want you to be happy. Discussing these prior to touring will save you time if the venue isn’t a good fit. Second are special elements. Are you missing a loved one whom you want included in your day in a special way? Is there a family wedding tradition you want to be sure to incorporate? Would you like to honor mom with a mother-daughter dance? Lastly are family dynamics. How can the venue help your day go smoothly? Should we be aware of any special circumstances?
Q: What are the "do's" and "dont's" of working with your wedding venue?
A: Do understand that the Venue wants your day to be the best day ever and will do everything possible to make that happen. Do respect the policies that are in place to protect you, the venue, the vendors and the bride whose wedding is the day after yours.
Do return the love, by leaving a sweet review.
Q: How can the venue work with your dream wedding aesthetic?
A: Creating beautiful spaces for photography should be high priority. Your photographs are forever, so it’s important that your venue is a great backdrop to your theme or vision. While providing linens, decor and styling help is all part of pulling your vision together, it’s equally important that your venue provides various elements your photographer will need. Clean walls, natural light, beautiful furnishings and a variety of well-landscaped outdoor spaces are necessary to capture those memorable moments.
Q: What is your favorite part about working in the wedding industry?
A: Our favorite part is being included in the couples' love story. Meeting the couple, hearing how they met and then getting to be part of the beginning of their forever...what’s better than that?!
Q: Any advice you would give to soon-to-be brides looking for their own wedding venue?
A: Visit venues with a working budget written down. Ask the cost of every detail so that you’ll have a complete and realistic picture of the costs associated with a wedding held there. Always ask, “What’s not included?” Those uncharges are the little surprises that can blow your budget. Know them up front.
If The Greystone Estate sounds like the perfect setting for your dream day, be sure to check out their website and book a date!
