Jessica and Reed were married October 14, 2017 at Kimball Hall in downtown Roswell, GA. Continue reading for more about Jessica and Reed’s glamorous wedding.
Reed and I met and started dating back in high school. Reed was a sophomore and I was a junior. After high school, we went through four years of long distance as Reed went to Duke University to play baseball and I went to Kennesaw State University. When he graduated, he moved back home to Georgia and we got engaged about a year later at a golf course in Blairsville where his family has a lake house - it was the Friday of memorial day weekend in 2016.
Our overall wedding theme and vibe would probably have to be glamour - most of our wedding revolved around gold sequin from the head table which was huge (22 foot long table) to our bridesmaids in full length gold sequin dresses. We incorporated some blush pink and navy into the mix, but the main focus was the gold and really big lush flowers.
I think my most favorite memory from our wedding day would have to be walking down the aisle. The anticipation of not seeing Reed all day made it so exciting to turn the corner and walk down the aisle towards him. It is something that I have dreamed about for almost 10 years since dating him and the moment certainly did not disappoint. As soon as I turned the corner, he was the only person that I saw, the seats could have been completely empty and I would not have noticed. Reciting our own hand written vows to each other was very special too. We have a special love story (at least I believe so) and I think we both did a great job telling that story to our friends and family that day. It was also extremely special to me when I did my first reveal with my dad, the emotion across his face is something I will never forget and I am so happy that I will forever have those photos.
My favorite part of my dress would definitely be the intricate details of the lace and beading as well as how long my train was - I was crazy about that train! Karin actually pulled the dress from the preview collection - I was so overwhelmed with excitement on the day we went dress shopping that I didn't pull a single dress. But when I felt how that dress fit me and the amazing detail of the dress- I knew I couldn't leave without it! It made me feel exactly what a bride should feel like - beautiful and confident - so I knew it was mine!
My experience with Wedding Angels was amazing. Karin was the sweetest and knew exactly what I wanted for my dress - she let my excited family pull about 15 dresses even though she said to start with 5 or 6. She made sure to tell me her honest opinion about every dress which made me feel like she wasn't just trying to sell me anything but actually wanted me to find the right dress. Alterations were great too, even when I asked to make a last minute change to add boning to my dress. They worked with me the entire time and made sure I was 100% happy with the fit. The entire experience was more than I could have ever asked for and I am glad I didn't go anywhere else for my dress!
